Submit Your Work
“Archives of Death by the Living” welcomes writing and artwork. Please submit your work through this form, while keeping the guidelines below in mind. I truly want to foster a relationship with you, so I will contact you with any suggestions I have—which you can accept or reject—and I will let you know once your piece has been published.
Writing Submission Guidelines
- Up to 3,000 words
- Any genre—but creative pieces are preferred—such as:
- Short story
- Long-form content
- Novel excerpt
- Memoir
- Feature article
- Screenplay
- Prose
- Poem
- Journalism article
- Narrative non-fiction
- Pieces must be related to “death” (whatever that means to you) in some way
- No submission fee
- No discriminatory content
- Include a 50-word biography with your submission (referring to yourself in third-person, using your first and last name the first time, and then just using your last name) and a 50-word explanation of why you created this piece
Art Submission Guidelines
- High-resolution images (JPEG or PNG, 300 DPI minimum)
- Any format, such as:
- Photography
- Visual art (e.g. painting, collage, sketch)
- Sculpture (submit as a picture)
- Performance (recorded as a video, up to 20 minutes)
- Digital video (up to 20 minutes)
- Any genre, but creative pieces are preferred
- Pieces must be related to “death” (whatever that means to you) in some way
- No submission fee
- No discriminatory content
- No grotesque, gory, or graphic content
- Include a 50-word biography with your submission (referring to yourself in third-person, using your first and last name the first time, and then just using your last name) and a 50-word explanation of why you created this piece
